Buts:
- To apply food and drink vocabulary and expressions used when ordering and paying at a restaurant
- To further understanding of French restaurant culture
Today we continued to use the new food/drink vocabulary and expressions such as J'ai faim, J'ai soif, Je voudrais and Vous désirez.
We looked at the menu for the famous Parisian restaurant Les Deux Magots and identified les entrées, les plats principaux, and les desserts.
In groups of 3, students wrote and read restaurant dialogues that incorporated expressions used when ordering and paying at a restaurant. You can find this list of expressions by clicking on the "Vocabulaire: Au restaurant" link to the right in the list of resources for Chapitre 5.
Homework (due Monday, 5/3): Visit http://www.restoaparis.com and find a restaurant -- any restaurant -- in Paris. Find the restaurant's menu online and pick three dishes from the menu that you have never tried before and write them down to bring to class on Monday. You can also try looking at http://www.restoaparis.fr/.
