Day 6

Buts:
- To continue applying food/drink vocabulary and expressions used au restaurant
- To conjugate and apply the verb prendre
- To identify types of eateries in France and the components of le couvert

Today we did a warm-up to practice conjugating the new verb prendre and then went over the homework.

Students then took Quiz 1, which dealt with the food and drink vocabulary of Chapter 5. If you were absent today or Thursday, please see me as soon as possible so that we can arrange for you to make up the quiz.

After the quiz, I introduced vocabulary relating to le couvert (place setting). I used a PowerPoint that can be found over in the Chapitre 5 Resources box to the right. We also looked at About.com's excellent article on the various types of restaurants in France, which you can access here: http://frenchfood.about.com/od/explorefrenchfood/p/restaurants.htm.

Lastly, I gave out information for the skit project that is due May 11. The information can be accessed by clicking here and also looking in the Chapitre 5 Resources box. This is a group project (3 people in a group). If you were absent today or Thursday, you will need to join a group on Friday.

You will also be making menus to accompany your skits, but I will introduce that piece of the project on Friday.

Homework: Reposez-vous! (Relax!)
